DRY CARGO VESSEL NAMED “İBRAHİM KONAN” RUN AGROUND AT ÇANAKKALE STRAIT

On 01.07.2015 at 03.00 a.m. 108 meter long Panama flagged dry cargo vessel “İBRAHİM KONAN” loaded with ammonium sulphate has run aground despite dropping her anchor in front of the Poyraz village at the north of Eceabat while navigating from north to south direction. Söndüren 7 tugboat and Kıyı Emniyeti 9 SAR boat which belong to our organization were immediately sent to the place of incident. No pollution or loss of life reported.

Upon salvage efforts performed by her own efforts obtained no result, on 02.07.2015 at 06.00 a.m. TURKS 2015 Salvage Agreement was signed between Captaincy of our Kurtarma 3 tugboat and the Captaincy of İbrahim Konan and, afterwards salvage operation was started.
